How to use this video for meditation

1. Spend time in centering prayer before watching the video. Relax, let go of any noises around you, empty your mind of extraneous thought, be open!

2. Watch the video, thinking as you watch it about your relationship with God.

3. As you watch the potter at work, imagine God's creative desire at work in you. What is taking shape in you?

4. Now, watch the video a second time. Notice the use of light. What images come to mind? Images from the Bible? From your experiences?

5. At one point in the video we see one pair of hands guided by another. Is God guiding your hand to shape your future? How are you a "co-creator" with God? Does God want you to be God's hands in the world? How?

6. Some of the images in the video evoke the sacraments of baptism and communion. Do you see them? Have you ever thought of your life as a sacrament? Is your life leading you into a closer relationship with God? Are you growing towards the "image and likeness" of God?

7. How are the images of the earth, of creation, connected to the images of the potter? Does this connect with your own life?

8. Is God showing you a question about your life right now? What is that question?

9. How is God at work in your life? What "shape" is God's call taking?

10. Close your time of meditation with a brief prayerãeither a prayer you know by heart or a prayer you feel moved to say right now.

11. If you want to continue at a later time with this meditation, read the section on lectio divina (divine reading) and use that method to explore any text from the Bible that speaks to your search for God's calling in your life.
